Originating from timbers reclaimed around the West Coast, our reclaimed Redwood mantels are some of the finest tight grain material we’ve ever seen. Old-growth Redwood beams simply do not compare to what is sold today in new lumber. Our reclaimed Redwood is supplied as all heartwood and virtually free of knots. Fireplace mantels are available in a wide range of sizes from 4”x4” up to 12”x14” and lengths up to 8’. Longer lengths are not a problem at an additional cost. The original color is a rich, reddish brown patina with the original texture containing either a circular sawn, band sawn, or old surfaced appearance which we often sand or grind to create a timeworn appearance or distress the mantel for a hand hewn appearance. We are also able to mill the beams to exact sizes and perfectly straight by sawing the original faces off revealing raw wood. For fireplace mantels, we detail sand all exposed sides and cut one side flat for installation against a wall or ceiling. Mantel ends are cut square to the requested length and polished. Matching corbels in a variety of sizes and shapes are available upon request as well.
